Taking the Next Step Toward My Internet Marketing Blog.

In the past two posts we talked about what you want out of your internet business and how much time you are going to spend working on it. So, what is the next step? I said before that an internet marketing blog would be the center of our business. There is more than one way to get a blog. You can do a free WordPress blog, use Blogger, buy a domain and use a webhosting company and more… I am going to mainly talk about buying a domain name and using a webhosting company to host your Internet Marketing Blog.

Free Internet Marketing Blog?

The places that allow you to put up a free blogs have terms of service agreements that you agree to. Those agreements can change anytime and you could lose your blog. They can also shut down your blog if they want at anytime without cause. Your blog could be here right now and gone in a blink of an eye. That is why I suggest that you get your own domain name and use a webhosting company. By owning your own domain and having it hosted you can keep control of your blog and contents. Make sure to read the terms of service before you do a free blog.

How To Make Your First Internet Commission From Your Internet Marketing Blog!

I use HostGator.com to host TomZumwalt.net, my Internet Marketing Blog. The first thing I did was go to HostGator and sign up as an Affiliate. Fill out all the information they ask for. Once you have your affiliate account, use the affiliate link to purchase your webhosting account! I got a check back for $50.00 by using my own affiliate link to purchase the webhosting for TomZumwalt.net! Now, I have never told anyone this before, and never put it on the internet before, so I do not know if HostGator will see this and put a stop to it. Or, you can use my affiliate link to sign up at HostGator. I used HostGator’s Baby Plan. It has unlimited Domains, Disk Space, and Bandwidth. I have a bunch of domain names and websites. By using the Baby Plan, I only have to pay the fee for hosting TomZumwalt.net. I can put the other domains on TomZumwalt.net as Add On Domains and not pay a webhosting fee each domain name. It saves money in the long run.

I put the part about HostGator first because I do not know if it will work for GoDaddy, but before you host your site at HostGator, go sign up at GoDaddy.com as an Affiliate. You have to create an account and than you can fill in your information to be an affiliate. After you become an affiliate try using your Affiliate Link and register your domain name. Let’s talk a little about picking a domain name. I already had the domain name TomZumwalt.com for real estate, so I bought TomZumwalt.net for Internet Marketing. I use my name to get it branded, you know name recognition. Try to use your name if you can with .com or .net. If your name is taken, try to use a name with the kind of business in it. I have InformedEntrepreneurs.com and TomsMLMSecrets.com also to give you an idea. Search Google for internet marketing or network marketing and look at the domain names, they might give you some ideas. How about MLMSecretsStore.com?

Now that you have a domain name go to Hostgator and use your affiliate link and sign up for the webhosting. If you do not want to sign up as an affiliate you use these links to GoDaddy and Hostgator.
